What is Pre-Washing?
The pre-washing machine is typically installed at the entrance of stenter or dryer machines. Alternatively, it can work as a stand-alone unit. This system efficiently cleans fabrics by dipping and spraying, removing substances like oil, wax, and paraffin.
We proudly introduce the OZM Pre-Washing Machine—an advanced, eco-friendly solution designed to remove weaving oils. As a result, it delivers high-quality fabrics with significantly lower operational costs compared to traditional washing methods.
Designed for Delicate Fabrics
The machine is specially designed for knitted or woven fabrics made from synthetic fibers or elastomers. These materials are sensitive to shrinkage and tend to contain more oil. Nevertheless, OZM technology works well with any fabric requiring pre-heat-setting washing.
Continuous and Efficient Processing
OZM can be installed in front of a stenter and paired with a squeezing padder. This combination enables continuous, in-line preparation, eliminating the need for pre-dyeing washing. Furthermore, it uses a specialized scouring solution—a natural, water-soluble formula with cleaning, dispersing, and sequestering agents.
As a result, the process remains tension-free. In addition, nozzle-based washing gently relaxes the fabric, making it more effective and safe.
Improved Fabric Quality
Unlike traditional methods, this machine prevents smoke formation at both the stenter’s entry and exit. Since the oil is removed before heat-setting, fabrics come out softer and cleaner, with no burnt residues. Therefore, the usual smell of untreated knitting oils is completely eliminated.
After heat setting, fabrics processed with the OZM machine show less yellowing, improved tone uniformity, and better dyeing results. Even without softeners, the outcome is compact, consistent, and soft-handled.
Moreover, the shorter dyeing time causes minimal fiber damage. Consequently, fabric properties stay nearly unchanged. The system also delivers the most cost-effective chemical recipes without sacrificing quality.
Water-Efficient and Eco-Conscious Design
Water usage is minimized, as absorption by the fabric is the only factor. Additionally, the secondary rinsing tank uses innovative nozzles to wash both sides of the fabric. This leads to extremely low water consumption—just 4 to 6 liters per kg of fabric.
Key Benefits of the Pre-Washing Machine
- Effectively removes knitting oils from polyester, cotton, and Lycra.
- Captures oil in a separate compartment using a special filter, ensuring eco-friendly production.
- Reduces flue gas emissions, especially in stenter machines.
- Extends nozzle performance by delaying filter contamination.
- Relaxes fabric in the J-box, eliminating production tension variations.
- Helps standardize fabric width using hot water treatment.
- Prevents yellowing in viscose, removing the need for bleaching.
- Cleans enzyme residues and surface contaminants.
- Stops Lycra melting due to oil during fixation.
- Makes the first padder in stenter machines unnecessary (if equipped with high squeezing).
- Enhances washing fastness in finishing stenters.
- Avoids the need for a second stenter pass in some viscose fabrics.
- Boosts enzyme cleaning under printed fabrics while keeping filters clean.
- Offers water-use control via magnetic flowmeters.
- Regulates chemical dosing precisely based on fabric weight.
